The two heathland courses at Walton Heath, the Old and the New, were designed by Herbert Fowler.

The club has staged many amateur and professional tournaments, including the European Open, the Ryder Cup in 1981 and the AIG Women’s Open in 2023. The Prime Minister, A J Balfour, joined when Walton Heath opened, followed by three future Prime Ministers; Lloyd George, Bonar Law and Winston Churchill.
