Sunningdale Golf Club held its preliminary meeting of shareholders in 1900. The following year, the Old Course opened, designed by Willie Park Jnr.

The first Secretary of the club was Harry Colt and he designed the New Course in 1923. Hosting over 100 professional tournaments, Sunningdale is a world-renowned venue with champions including Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones, Gary Player, Nick Faldo, Nancy Lopez and Karen Stupples.
