John Jacobs, the former Ryder Cup captain, founded one of the country’s first floodlit golf ranges at Sandown.

Its popularity encouraged him to build a 9-hole course in 1969. Over the years, Sandown Park Golf Club has continuously evolved, upgrading its facilities. It now has three 9-hole courses, the main 9-hole Eclipse course with two par fives, the par 3 Masters and the Colt short-game course.
