Richmond Park, the largest of London’s Royal Parks, has two public golf courses. The Prince’s course opened in 1923 and the second course, the Duke’s course, was opened in 1925.
Both were designed by Fred Hawtree and five-time Open Champion, J H Taylor. The Priory Golf Club was formed in 1924 with J H Taylor as the club’s first President. In 1953, the club changed its name to Richmond Park Golf Club.
