Moore Place Golf Club was established in the grounds of the Moore Place Hotel in 1926. Harry Vardon, six- time Open Champion, formally opened the 9-hole course, playing there in a Pro-Am competition in 1927.

The course closed in 2019 and the club was forced to find a new home. The Sandown Park Golf Centre welcomed the members to the course, which it now shares with the Sandown Park Golf Club.
