Coombe Wood Golf Club has a rich history dating back to 1904, when the Duke of Cambridge acquired the 1,300-acre Coombe Estate and laid out a 9-hole golf course.
The course continued to develop over the years, and after the First World War the local hockey and cricket clubs disappeared, allowing for enlargement into an 18-hole course in 1922. In 1994, the club purchased a new 125-year lease, securing its tenure.
